HOW DOES CloakCom™ WORK – THE BASICS:
CloakCom™ is based on an algorithm designed to remove waveform features by encryption of the conveying channel without degrading the bandwidth (i.e. no transmission overhead).
CLoakCom™ IS PROVEN TECHNOLOGY:
The technology has received Phase I and II DARPA funding resulting in the construction and successful testing of proof-of-concept radios. The technology has also been awarded three separate U.S. Patents (7,949,032; 8,054,865; and 8,275,020) with additional patents pending.
WHAT CloakCom™ CAN DO FOR YOU:
CloakCom™ provides end-to-end communications security for multi-platform networks of any configuration. It can allow your devices to transmit and receive signals undetected, without concerns for spectrum management and without being jammed in signal denied areas.
CloakCom™ IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO EXPLOIT:
CLoakCom™ IS NOT SPREAD SPECTRUM:
CloakCom™ harnesses a significantly different approach from spread spectrum methods which predominate today. Spread spectrum methods, however complex, have repeating (ergodic) elements that can be reconstructed by unintended recipients. By contrast, the CloakCom™ algorithm is non-differentiable so there are no recursive elements for rebuilding (exploiting) a signal. This provides significant benefits to users:
CloakCom™ is frequency, data rate, and transmission medium agnostic
CloakCom™ does not require individual RF spectral space
CloakCom™ can coexist in the same space as any number of other RF-enabled devices without interference, distortion, OR detection
CloakCom™ can be adapted/retrofitted to any platform
CloakCom™ utilizes never-exchanged, never-shared, never-stored, one-time encryption coefficients that are dynamically generated based on a single negotiated point in relative time. This “relative time” feature is also quite unique in that communicants can agree at the point of the initial “handshake” or when “time zero” is for them. They can also determine how often they will dynamically generate coefficients – which can be as short as 10ns (i.e. not session specific as with other encryption solutions.) These dynamically generated coefficients exist only for the instant that they are used, never to reappear; so unintended recipients can never acquire sufficient information to exploit the signal.
CLoakCom™ IS SIMPLE AND INEXPENSIVE TO USE:
CloakCom™ eliminates the need for highly accurate clocks (i.e. you can use commercial grade oscillators). Communicants can even have significantly drifted clocks – or clocks in different time zones - and still be able to communicate.
CloakCom™ does not rely on external timing like GPS – In fact, CloakCom™ can provide ranging information in the absence of GPS.
CloakCom™ can use a simple Omni-directional antenna which can save a lot of space and weight in aviation applications.
CloakCom™ has demonstrated its signal can be buried well below noise, since jamming is not a consideration, which greatly reduces power requirements for transmitting and receiving.
