Database Design & Development
Data drives business decisions. Understanding data drives growth. DMS specializes in capturing, extracting, analyzing, and disseminating data--in short, transforming data into actionable information. Our database design and development solutions provide:
- Data Conversion Plans & Conversions
- Data Extraction and Manipulation
- Data Analysis
DMS will help you get the data you need into the location you want. Using industry-certified extraction and transformation tools, we can convert your data into one common format. And if your data, like that of many large enterprises, resides on heterogeneous platforms in disparate locations, we can extract and deposit it into one central database (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, IBM DB2).
DMS also provides data analysis solutions. We have worked with many organizations which lack the proper tools or know-how to crunch large datasets. Using SAS and other programs, we can turn your data into statistically significant facts and information on which to build knowledge-driven strategies.
Our database clients include NAVSEA, NIH, U.S. Army National Guard, and the U.S. Census Bureau. Call us today.
NAVSEA Oracle Forms Conversion - The U.S. Navy tasks DMS to convert legacy Oracle forms (2.0-3.0) to Oracle forms 6i and to integrate these forms into an Oracle 8i database. This effort required the analysis of each form's code and in some cases a reverse engineering of these forms due to limited documentation.
Booz-Allen & Hamilton U.S. Census Bureau Web-Based Automated Map Request Form Enhancements - DMS was tasked to develop enhancements for a Web based automated Map Request Form (MRF) application for the TIGER Mapping Branch of the Geography Division of the US Bureau of the Census. This project was an add-on to an estimated $750,000 contract for the initial development of the MRF. The MRF replaces text-based map specifications from map sponsors with a standard, easy to use web-enabled tool. The MRF is a Cold Fusion application with links to an Oracle database on a Windows NT server on-site at the Census Bureau. Tasks included the development of multiple forms built in Cold Fusion 4.5; an Oracle 8i database and graphic interfaces using Javascript and Cold Fusion.
