DMS Focuses on Employee Development


DMS is continuing to develop the skills of our employees through programs aimed at assisting the employees in meeting their career development needs. This will consist of the following three approaches:

  • eLearning
  • We are rolling out an online Learning Management System (LMS) on to deliver, track and manage training. The LMS will be provided by a major eLearning vendor and customized for DMS. It will initially focus on three areas: Business and Interpersonal Skills; Information Technology; and, Microsoft Office applications. The LMS will be our vehicle to deliver competency-based training and certifications. It will provide unlimited 24/7 access to our selected self-paced courses, eReference libraries, skills assessments and virtual labs.

  • Seminars, Workshops and Conferences
  • DMS will continue to use this traditional method primarily for specific technical training and recertification. The employee and their management will work collaboratively to identify available resources and appropriate venues such as training vendors, manufacturers/software developers and trade or professional associations.

  • College Courses
  • The DMS Tuition Reimbursement program will remain the vehicle for career and professional development through credit, noncredit and certificate university, college and technical school programs and vendors.
